Meet the Team

  • Roger grew up at Wynyard in northwest Tasmania, and knew from 11 years old that he wanted to be a vet. Graduating from Murdoch University in WA in 1982, he brought Leonie and oldest daughter Kylie to Deloraine to start a new life here in 1985. He thoroughly enjoys (even after 40 years!), the challenge of mixed practice, where you never know what the next job may be. His professional special interests include all things surgical, in particular orthopaedics and ophthalmology, but also cattle and horse surgery. Having married a horsey girl and bred four daughters all of whom went to pony club, at age 40 when the kids were more independent, he took up horse riding for fun (if you can’t beat them, then join them!), and enjoys competing in eventing and show jumping. A lover of nature and the outdoors, fishing and bushwalking make for a fun day out with family and friends.

  • Belinda grew up in sunny southern Queensland and graduated from University of Queensland in 2012. She moved to Tasmania to pursue a true mixed practice experience, and enjoys the variety of working with the many different species we see on a daily basis. Her particular areas of interest include small animal medicine and diagnostic imaging, equine dentistry and bovine medicine and surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys bushwalking and exploring Tassie, playing clarinet with a local community concert band and spending time with her siamese cat Otto, her blue cattle dog Toby and a stockhorse named Bob.

  • Merrilyn graduated in 1998 from Sydney University and spent 20 years on the North Coast of NSW and then 2.5 years at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital. She now just focuses on horses and has sat her membership examinations in equine practice and equine surgery. Merrilyn has a special interest in intensive care cases, surgery and foal medicine and in her spare time she loves to ride her own horse.

  • Antoinette grew up in Mount Gambier, South Australia until moving to Melbourne to study. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2020, Antoinette moved to Tassie on a bit of whim. She is now loving the variety that mixed practice life in rural Tasmania brings. While striving to be a bit of an all-rounder she especially loves the farm animals. Antoinette has joined the local Deloraine Women’s football team and if that is not keeping her busy she enjoys exploring Tasmania through bushwalking and road trips.
